Pentax K-3 Wins EISA 2014-2015 Award

The European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA, www.eisa.eu) has just published a list of its prestigious 2014-2015 product awards.  The EISA photography awards, which are similar to the well-known TIPA awards, are issued annually for some of the most successful camera-related products released each year.  The winning products are chosen by a panel of "Experts" on each product category.  Currently, 50 special-interest magazines from 20 European countries are EISA members.

Pentax, Canon, and Nikon each received one EISA award for one of their DSLR cameras this year: the Pentax K-3 was named best advanced DSLR, while the Canon 1200D/Rebel T5 and Nikon D4s took the entry-level and professional DSLR awards, respectively.

This marks the first Pentax EISA award since the 645D's "Best Professional Camera" award in 2011-2012, and the K10D's "Best Camera" award in 2007-2008.  Combined with its recent TIPA award and user feedback, the Pentax K-3 has received universal acclaim as one of Pentax's best DSLR cameras.  Learn more about the K-3 in our in-depth review.

Non-DSLR categories dominated the remainder of this year's EISA photography awards, with winners being assigned as follows:

Advanced Compact System Camera Fuji X-T1
Advanced Compact Camera Panasonic Lumix FZ1000
Compact Camera Sony RX100 III
Compact System Camera Olympus E-M10
