Christmas is coming up soon, and so every week we're starting to see new deals on Pentax gear!

This week's featured deal is the Rokinon 85mm F1.4, which can be had for just $239 from B&H photo (this is an exclusive deal not featured by any other site).  Given its bargain price, this lens actually delivers really impressive image quality and build quality.  Sigma's 85mm costs nearly 4 times more, and it's certainly not even twice as good, as we discovered in our in-depth review of the Rokinon 85mm F1.4.

Please note that this lens is also sold under the Vivitar, Samyang, and Bower brands, but the four versions are identical in terms of features and optics.  If you want to learn more about it, check our our user reviews!  This lens makes for a great gift idea because of its cost-effectiveness.

Next up is the Pentax K-5, which has dropped to $749 (same price as on Black Friday).  Stock has almost run out at Adorama: the camera will be gone for good before the end of the year.

Adorama has just posted some Pentax lens specials which aren't visible unless you add the items to your cart.  The lens savings are summarized below, and many of them are the same as Black Friday pricing! (Pentax, these savings should be year-round)

You can still receive Black Friday price on the Pentax K-01, but hurry: the extra savings might expire, or the camera might even become discontinued!

Our friends at B&H Photo will be launching some slick weekly deals over the course of the coming weeks.  Today brings the first deal: save $70-80 on the Bower 14mm F2.8 (see review) and Bower 35mm F1.4 for Pentax.  These manual lenses deliver great performance without costing too much: compare the Bower 14mm (now only $299) to the SMC Pentax-DA 14mm F2.8, which costs $739. Similarly, compare the Bower 35mm F1.4 (now only $379) to the Sigma 35mm F1.4 DG HSM A1, which costs $899.  The Bower lenses are less than half the price of the others, and the only big thing you'd be giving up is autofocus!

If fact, when we reviewed the Bower 14mm, we found it to be better than the Pentax 14mm F2.8 optically.  On top of this, the Bower 14mm is a full-frame lens, whereas the Pentax is not.

Bower lenses are also branded as Vivitar, Samyang, and Rokinon lenses; regardless of their names, all these lenses are identical optically, and you will see our members use these names interchangeably.

Cyber Monday is the last day of Pentax deals- but it also brings us some new savings!  B&H photo has dropped the price of the Pentax K-5 II and K-30 as shown below:

Black Friday brought many great Pentax deals, most of which will continue through Monday, November 26th.  In addition, we expect retailers to post some new deals for Cyber Monday only, so please stay tuned!

Yesterday's deals were mainly for Pentax lenses, DSLRs, and the Pentax K-01.  While some of the deals can also be found on Amazon's web site and at smaller retailers, it was mainly B&H and Adorama of NYC who truly made an effort to price Pentax gear attractively, especially considering how expensive Pentax lenses have been over the past several months.  The only exception to this is the Pentax Q/Q10, which B&H and Adorama have neglected (however, Newegg is offering a great deal on the Q with the 02 zoom lens).
