For the Black Friday weekend (through Monday, November 26th), Pentax USA has lifted the online Unilateral Pricing Policy.  This means that you can save up to 60% on Pentax lenses at authorized retailers for the next four days- so be quick, and get your orders in!  For the time being, Pentax lenses are once again as affordable as they always should have been.  The prices will be honored even for back-ordered items.

We expect this sale to clean out both B&H and Adorama's Pentax lens inventory, so act quick if you'd like to secure these deals.  We have confirmed that the UPP will be back in effect next week.  Please note that you have to look at both retailers' pricing in order to get the best price: for some times, Adorama has lower prices than B&H, and vice-versa.  Refer to the table below for which store is cheaper.

Black Friday also brings great deals on Pentax cameras, including mirrorless cameras and all DSLRs!

The Pentax K-30, now also available in a kit with the 18-55mm WR lens (see below), has fallen in price by about $100.  Save on the body or any kit!  There are also savings on the Pentax K-5 II, K-5 IIs, K-5 Classic, and K-01 (most notably, the Pentax K-5 IIs is discounted by $250).  Here's an overview of the savings that are available right now.  Note how the Pentax K-5 is available at an all-time low of $749!

Adorama has received what will be the very last shipment of the original K-5 model and they let it go at a Black Friday price of just $748!

As we reported earlier the Pentax K-5 is the highest scoring APS-C DSLR ever in DxOMark's tests and even scores higher than Canon full-frame cameras. You can't go wrong with the K-5 especially at this rock bottom price!

Last year, Black Friday brought us Pentaxians an excellent deal: just over 25% off the Pentax K-5, which dropped from $1349 to just $999 for four days.  This year, there are many directions that Pentax can take, so let's take a look at what we can expect to see become more affordable this weekend.  But first, there's one great deal that's already out there that will likely not change, and that's the new low pricing on the Pentax K-01 mirrorless APS-C camera.  A couple of weeks ago, this camera's price fell by about $300, from $649 to $349, which is less than half of the original launch price.  The ultra-slim 40mm kit lens is now also just $100!

Cheaper Lenses

This April, Pentax USA launched a unilateral pricing policy (UPP) which made online prices on Pentax lenses ridiculous, to the point where sales at US online retailers virtually came to a standstill (see price comparison table).  Even though instant rebates and double instant rebates were launched, online lens prices are still very high (in-store prices remain largely unaffected by the UPP).  Thus, on Black Friday, it could be that Pentax will drop the lens prices to a more reasonable level, and if the double instant rebates are in effect, you could save big on lens purchases together with a K-30 or K-5 II/IIs!  If any price drops to get announced, we'll be first to let you know, so stay tuned to our homepage around midnight on Thursday/Friday for the latest deals.

K-30 Price Drops

Another possibility could be that Pentax will sharply drop the price of the Pentax K-30, which was launched this July and has become a very popular choice for outdoor photographers and those wanting an affordable DSLR that packs a punch.  Launched at $849, the K-30 currently retails for $749, and it wouldn't be unreasonable to expect another $100 to fall off of that price.  Time will tell what ends up happening!

We would also like to mention that the price of the K-30 18-135mm lens kit has dropped to just $1039, which means that $529 the lens is yours for under $300!

Despite its discontinuation over in Japan, shipments of the Pentax K-5 still keep on popping up in the US, and prices at authorized retailers are falling.  Adorama has just dropped the price of the K-5 to $799, the lowest we have seen from any US brick and mortar store that also does business online.

Pentax DSLR shipments typically consists of only a few dozen pieces, so act fast if you wish to secure your upgrade to the K-5 before it's gone.  At this low price, the K-5 costs about 55% less than it did at launch!

Combined with the new low price of the Pentax K-01, Pentax sure is doing a good job of keeping its cameras competitive!
