My latest eBay fix --

My wallet has been getting HAMMERED and I thought I would show off my latest purchase.

Kiron 28-70mm f/3.5 - 4.5 Macro

Just a couple of quick test shots from this little baby. I'm quite enjoying it so far if only because it's my first PKA mount lens, where I can actually have some EXIF data. I think there may be some loose ball bearings somewhere inside because it rattles, and the focus seems like it doesn't have enough resistance. I have yet to clean the elements, but I think the images look a bit soft wide open, although I think I quite like it.

Pics of the actual hardware:

I knew you could buy a KatzEye on eBay, but I didn't know you could buy cats.

They really don't like being stuffed in the boxes, especially when you have catnip in the same shipment.

I must disagree: cats do love boxes.

Yep, no pics but around here you have to check every box before you toss it. Might have a cat (or two) in it

And to the OP, no offense, nice cats and all, but this is a photo gear forum. We've seen cats. We want to see pics of the lens!

If it sounds like the bearings are rolling around it is by design. I went to a camera show down here in Southern California in the early-mid 1980s that Kiron had a bootht. I talked to one of the techs about the rattle in my f/4 80-200mm zoom which I had brought to the show. He said it was by design because they found out the bearings turn more smoothly if they leave a few out instead of packing it fully.

The first shot shows me an original photographer, nothing about the lens. I like it.

Thanks! I love that photo. It looks like a cover for a comic book.

I will take photos when I get home of the lens itself.
