Originally posted by shiveringphotographr I’ve had my DA 18-135 WR for a couple years now, and it has been my go to lens in most instances. Recently I spent a day shooting with it and there were no issues. When I got home I took it out to shoot some more, and to my dismay, the lens would not focus. Everything was out of focus, regardless of how I turned the focus ring or used autofocus. I’ve found that when I orient the lens vertically (front element facing the sky) the focus works again, but when returned to a level position, the focus once again stops working. Something sounds slightly loose when I turn the lens upside down and right side up again. I am just wondering if it can be amended or if its time to replace this lens.
Remember that if you bought the lens new, you probably have a 2nd year warranty through the credit card you purchased it with. So you might check the exact day you bought it.
