Tamron 300 MM AF 60EP (Pentax Mount)

The Tamron 60EP now joins the 300 MM models 107B and 60B that we've used extensively since 2008.
I was not sure that this AF lens existed until we saw it available a week ago on Ebay (Seoul), we checked reviews and bought the same day. It appears to be a superb AF lens in the initial testing done.
The condition of glass and lens body is excellent and actually appears rarely used. We'll post images from an indoor track meet early next month were f:/2.8 300 MM is needed.

Wow, never heard of it. Probably never available in the US market?

Hi Gerry! Excellent pictures. How was AF behaving? Could you also compare IQ to your experiences with the 107B and the 60B models? Thank you. Andy

Andy - We found the 60B has higher IQ over the 107B. The 60EP IQ has higher than the 60B by a good margin this we saw as we shot similar subjects with both lens this weekend. One variable was the 60EP was mounted on our new K-3 body and so that could be a factor. We are still evaluating. The 60EP AF is now spot on after AF fine adjustment in body. The copy we have showed strong back-focusing that was fully corrected by the K-3.in settings.

In these four images a Tamron 60EP was paired with a K-3 we had recently purchased.

More excellent shots, Gerry!

You really captured the combination of power and nimbleness these athletes possess.

I have the same lens but Nikon mount.
Changed its mount to a Pentax-K (the lens became manual) but with possibility to return all back. Use it in manual mode on Sony A7 or in autofocus mode through Pentax 1.7 AF adapter with my Pentax K3.

A few days ago i decided to made a mount plate (arca swiss type) for this lens.
In future will paint it into black.
