Reasonable price for SMC Pentax-A 100mm F2.8 Macro lens?

Hello,

I found a SMC Pentax-A 100mm F2.8 Macro for sale on craigslist and its in a decent condition. The glass is clean (except for some dust), it has a few dings but nothing severe. The focusing ring is smooth. Over all I would say it is in a fair to good condition.

What would be a reasonable price for this lens? I looked at the lens review section the last reported price was in 2011 for $700. The one I am looking at is being sold for $450. Should I negotiate or is that a good price?

They list for $650ish on eBay. It really depends on you but $450 doesn't seem out of line at all given previous lens prices.

question is, why not buy a D FA 100mm f2.8 WR marco if you're going to pay that much for an old manual focus leaking lens? Just got one on Black Friday, cheap as chips, outstanding quality!!!

Agree with the above. The price is in line with sales i have seen. But the DFA 100mm WR is a better buy.
