Wobbly barrel?

I just picked up a used K5IIs and 18-55WR. The barrel that protrudes past the focus ring is wobbly on this copy. I have never had this lens before but I have never seen this on any other lens I own. Is this normal for the 18-55? It's not a huge deal as I will hardly use it if ever, it does take decent pics though and would work in a pinch. I thought about reselling it and now I'm pretty sure I'll be stuck with it if it's a defect.

Like, REALLY wobbly or just a bit of movement (like a few mm?)

maybe moves a mm to each side and up and down. Just never seen this at all on any of my other lenses such as the 18-135 or 55-300 WR

I have the 18-135 WR and 55-300 WR as well. Both my copies have a bit of movement like that too, so I think it's fairly common and normal. The 18-135 is probably worse and more noticeable (because it comes out in 2 sections) but haven't had any issues because of it.

got an old 135/2.8 that does that....unnerving but doesn't seem to effect focus and I use it quite a bit......reckon that's not very helpful
