Russian Jupiter 9 lens

Just bought a Jupiter 9 85/2 lens on fleabay in excellent condition. It turns out to be Zenit m39 fit and not the m42 mount I was expecting.
Am I right in thinking that an m39 to m42 adapter will make it usable and focus to infinity? I seem to remember reading this somewhere
on the forum. My current camera is K500. Thanks in advance, Glenn

I think so if ZM39 is zenit in this table: Camera Mounts Sorted by Register

And this seems to confirm it: http://camera-wiki.org/wiki/Zenit

The gotcha is that it could be a different m39 mount.

Not sure if infinity focus works, no reason it shouldn't...
Mount -------------- Flange Distance
M42×1 ------------- 45.46 mm
M39x1 ------------- 45.46 mm
Pentax K-mount - 45.46 mm

Canon and Leica 39mm screw thread have shorter registration distances.

Thanks for the replies. I have decided that it really isn't worth the hassle and will be returning the lens.
This copy also came with oily blades and stiff focus. I already have a Helios 44M and 442 so am
aware of Russian quality control.
