I managed to get hold of an FA* 85mm from a second hand camera store. It wasn't cheap but it was a lens I've been after for a while. I tested it in store on my K1 both inside the shop and out to see if all was okay.

However, I forgot to check that the focus clutch was working and when I got it home I realised the focusing ring is jammed in place and cannot be used, I checked that the clutch was in the manual position and the lever on the K1 was set to MF. The autofocus works absolutely fine - which is what I tested in the shop.

Has anyone experienced this before? Is it a fairly simple fix? I'd rather not have a refund as I really like the pictures this lens produces and I don't know if I'd ever see another one again - especially here in Moscow. Then again I don't want to be stuck with it if it's unrepairable.

What do you guys think? What would you do?

Ok, but English would have been better

You have to push the clutch towards the camera to activate it. Are you doing that @auricle?

Yes of course, I pulled the clutch towards the camera so it hides the 'auto focus' label but the focusing ring still refuses to turn.

And does AF do anything at that point?

No, it disengages the autofocus like it should. Everything seems to work fine other than the focus ring that is jammed.

something is broke then, or maybe it can be pushed back a little further.

Just an update. I took it back and they promised to repair it for me. Fingers crossed.
