Pentax D-FA 150-450 4.5-5.6 with 1.7 pentax TC

Hi there
Has anyone used the 150-450 with a pentax 1.7 TC on the K3 or K5?
How is the IQ and AF capabilities..

I used it with 1.4 TC on K3, AF works well, but IQ is average. I don't think AF would work with a 1.7x TC. I used two 1.4 TC stacked so 1350mm FF eq. provide usable results for video , but image quality is too low for photos. Now, I sold the TCs, and I still use the DFA150-450 and eventually crop. I don't know about the 1.7TC but the 1.4TC works best with the DA300 IMHO.

That's interesting.
I find it hard to tell the difference in IQ with and without the 1.4xTC, both are excellent to my eye.
I use the combination on K-3 II and K-1.

Terry - I'm using the 1.4x TC with the DA*60-250 at the long end, and I find it to be superb - although there are occasions where I notice a *tiny* bit more fringing in very high contrast areas when using the TC. I can tell the difference between with and without when I look for it, but it's very minor and perfectly acceptable for the extra reach.
