Awesome. I lived in Alice Springs for six months a while (twenty years) back, and visited as a tourist twice before that.
In addition to Uluru and Kata Tjuta, the Western Macdonnell Ranges are a must see - in my opinion Serpentine Gorge and Redbank Gorge are the best (and bizarrely, the least visited) highlights, especially if there has been a decent amount of rain. Kings Canyon is also spectacular.
The 24-70 in FF mode will be perfect for most of your landscape needs. It might be worth investing in an 82mm polarising filter for those big skies. I used the DA55-300 in crop mode quite a lot on a recent overseas trip and was very pleased with it.
