Hi folks
I'm looking for a reasonably priced hotshoe to PC sync adapter compatible with K5 (& K10 ideally)

I've found this but never heard of the manufacturer - anyone using one ?
Flash Hot Shoe to PC Sync Adapter Pentax K7 K5 KX K20D | eBay

or this
Hot Shoe to PC Sync Adapter for PENTAX Olympus Fujifilm | eBay

or this
SC-2 Flash Hot Shoe PC Sync Adapter for Canon Nikon: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics

I'm aiming to try and use cactus v4 as a remote shutter release like this : Using Cactus V4 radio triggers as remote shutter releases. | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

any recommendations ?

thanks

Do you already have the cactus v4 triggers?

If not, you may want to consider getting the Cactus v5 which has a PC terminal in addition to hotshoe. Actually it has a stereo 3.5mm phone port and it comes with a PC cable to trigger flashes.

To trigger any Pentax camera you will need a cable with a 3.5mm stereo plug in one end and 2.5mm on the other. As a bonus you can press half-way the trigger button and you can focus.

I use a Kaiser one; something like this one. Paid about 10 bucks for it 3 years ago.

On a K10D the biggest disadvantage of those adapters is that they will block the popup flash so AF assist is no longer available. Might not be an issue for you; for me the reason to get the AF540.

Any SCA301 adapter (the simplest one of the SCA300-series which just uses the X-contact itself) has a cable outlet (2.5 mm mono plugs should fit).
EDIT: On eBay you shouldn't pay more than 1 or 2 $.

But when I read everything again more carefully, you probably don't need a "hotshoe to PC sync adapter" as the title of this thread suggests.

Yes I have the v4's already, given to me as a present just before the v5's came out - a mixed blessing !!

You do realize that the K5 has a PC socket? I realize that the K10 doesn't.
