Nice! The lenses used are beyond nice though. I can't believe that last shot was 300mm @ f/2.8.

#1, 2 & 5 are my fav's here.

Thanks Adam.

I like number 4. The stars add another dimension.

Super shots! Seattle got cloudy (what a shock, eh?) so we missed out...

Good shots. I know how difficult is to get images like no. 4. To bad that the lens used seems to has some coma, if I see it well.

Nice. I set my alarm, but it was cloudy and raining when I got up.

I've consistently gotten the best moon pics with the 300mm 2.8. The lens is just crazy sharp, and it's not too heavy either. One of the main issues I had with the 250-600mm and 1000mm (mirror lens) last night was stability. They worked fine when the moon was still bright and I could use fast shutter speeds, but once the full eclipse started the results weren't stellar. Also, the added magnification makes focusing harder and doesn't necessarily reveal more detail when the shot isn't 100% perfect.

You'd be surprised but all the 300mm photos were taken with AF.

Some terrific shots here. I wish it had been clear enough for me to get a few. A bit of a suggestion for those with longer lenses and stability issues. Bean bags on the ground will keep the equipment nice and steady. And a side note, there will be another eclipse on October 8th of this year. This one should be even more exciting because it will coincide with the Draconids meteor shower. With a little luck someone (hopefully me) will get some shots of the fully eclipsed Moon with meteor(s) in the frame. Start planning and practicing now!

Here's one more from my Nikon, shortly after the total eclipse ended. The original plan was to have the other camera shooting a timelapse while I was busy doing close-ups with my tele lenses, but I screwed up the exposure. Lesson learned for next time (October I guess)!
