Mexican Hat
Lens: 18-250mm Camera: K5 Photo Location: Utah

20 miles north of Monument Valley, is the town of Mexican Hat, population 30, yes thirty, but it has a famous landmark called of course Mexican Hat. This is a very unique balanced rock formation that looks like someone wearing a sombrero. The unusual sandstone backdrop of mauve colors have been incorporated into the blankets made by the Navajo Indians.

Good tip for next time I'm in the area -- last time being 20 years ago . You caught this in perfect light to bring out all those colors.

We have been quite busy since leaving the kids in Colorado Jer, spending their inheritance as fast as we can.
