Fire and lightning

A scrub fire flared up near our camp last night, and a passing thunderstorm provided low cloud for reflection. Quite windy, so there is a lot of blur in unavoidable foreground vegetation on the 30 second exposure. The phenomenon only lasted for around ten minutes --the pictures may appear to have suffered from a heavy hand with saturation in LR, but I actually barely touched it, or not at all. used slight adjustments in exposure balancing out with highlight reduction, plus some contrast and clarity . Colours were very vivid directly off the camera.

Great stuff. Must have been quite scary. The blurry vegetation adds to the atmosphere. Lighting is hard to catch at the best of times and you did a great job. The colors are stunning.

This may be a good time to start investigating PS, instead of always relying on LR. I'd like to be rid of that tree in the left foreground.,.
