Snow in Our Backyard
Lens: 18-250mm Camera: K3 Photo Location: NV. ISO: 50
Posted By: Bob Harris, 12-21-2014, 08:28 PM

It's getting a bit too close for us snowbirds, so we will be packing up soon headed to the lower deserts of California. That's Mt Charleston in the background, el. 12,000', Joshua Tree and Yuccas in the foreground.

When you don't own a coat, this is severe enough for me.

so do we, it's the desert at it's best. Temps in the 60's during the winter generally and what a view we have of the mountains.

Wonderful, buddy. The contrast between the desert plants in the foreground and the snowy peaks in the distance is interesting: two different worlds in the same frame.

two different worlds for sure buddy, during the summer it's nice to head up to the mountains where temps are so much cooler than the 115f in the deserts.

We've got the best of both worlds Tom, the desert has so much to offer but don't tell anyone.

It's easier for us to just head south to warmer lands Norbert, no snow here in southern Arizona, only sun.
