Nature Waiting for Ice Out at Smoke Creek

We are getting ready for our first big trip of the year, always held right after Ice Out, so we get back before the bugs get thick. The park is projecting Ice Out on May 8th, but were still hoping for May 2, so we can leave on the fourth and get back before May Two Four. So every time we go by we check in and see how it's going.

April 12th...

April 17th

The ice is receding, but slowly..... no hint of Ice Out just yet.

Ice has only been out for about a week in CNY. I doubt it is out in the Adirondacks yet. That's why the Loons are still here...
