Nice setting... Wondering what's going on with that blue shape behind the tower? Is that decorative trim? Or some kind of construction equipment?

Oh yeah, lightning... I think I've seen that once We don't get any rain anymore :/

I have heard repeatedly on the news. Do you think lack of rain is caused by climatic change, global warming?

I don't think anyone really knows for sure. I just looked at a plot of annual rainfall for Los Angeles County going back to 1877. I didn't notice anything that looked really unusual in recent years compared to dry spells in the past, either in rainfall amount or drought duration. After some heavy rain in 2007, we put on a new roof in 2008. Since then we haven't had a hard rain that I think would really test whether the roofer did a good job. I remember many years of exceptional rainfalls in the 1980's.
