i think most of these are with the 50-135 and hd 1.4 tc, though a couple may be with the da*300. shutter was right around 1/125 for all of them i think, iso 100 and aperture around f11-f13ish

Well..... whatever they were taken with...they were taken well.
Congratulations, very good work.
Many may not appreciate the skill in doing what you have done here. I have done a bit of this myself and I for one appreciate the quality of this work, you should submit some of these to PEG (Pentax Exclusive gallery).
Again, congratulations.

wow, nice panning work. I like #5 best. I have no experience in this type of photography. But I assume you used the AF-C on your K3?

These are truly marvelous - I don't think I've seen panning done better anywhere.

Thanks so much

I tried using catch in focus at first but didn't really like the results, so I just used AFC with the back button AF. Id grab the subject early and pan with them for as long as I could to get the camera moving naturally with the subject, then fire a burst of 3 or 4 shots when the subject was where I wanted.

Great work - especially pics 3 and 6, I will have to get to a motorcycle race this year (I normally only concentrate on car racing, but with bikes you can really 'sense' the rider having to work the machine..

I prefer shooting bikes over cars. You get to see a lot of the rider involvement, and they are in much more interesting positions. Cars tend to be upright and on all four tires.

Bikes are also nice because the riders love flashy paint jobs

Thanks for explaining your technique. Not too many fast action photos get posted here. Would love to see more from you.
