Nature Blue Dasher

This beautiful blue dasher dragonfly had decided to stop for long enough to let me get nice and close. The park was filled with these little critters, perhaps because it's summer with plenty of mosquitoes out there. As the name suggests, these insects are mighty quick, capable of flying upwards of 30 mph.

Pentax K-5 with DA* 60-250mm lens @ 250mm. TAv, 1/320s f/11 ISO 400. Processed and cropped from raw in RawTherapee.
