Landscape Us 395

A few shots of the tufa formations at Mono Lake, California. I really need to get back here and try for some sunset or dark sky images at this location.

This one actually taken in the Alabama Hills loop drive heading west out of Lone Pine. This is a few hours south of Mono Lake. Somewhere in the clouds is Mt. Whitney, the highest peak in the lower 48 states of the US.

Thanks specialK! I think it rivals Highway 1, but doesn't get nearly as much glory. Or tourists! It's rarely ever crowded, the exception being when you get caught, in either direction, in the LA - Mammoth parade during ski season.
