Impressive all the way around, but the second Nerodia shot looks as if you were in a studio.

Im no expert species names so ill take your word on it haha.

It was shot at relatively close range (without risking getting bit), and I used my Metz 50 flash which is I suspect is what you are seeing.

Yup - european starling.

I love the water snake ones too, but the tree swallow is my favorite. Beautiful bird and lovely posture!
