Helping Out A Pal
Posted By: Kerrowdown, 06-29-2016, 12:14 PM

Weddings are not something I'm involved with at all, so just helping a pal out... I fired a couple of shots on the K1 just to see how it faired, not bad me thinks.

You should reconsider the notion that you are not into wedding photography. Cheers.

Thank you for you kind words, the Kerrowdown is not cut to do this kinda stuff, just way too much grief... this was just helping out an old pal in Edinburgh.

Getting the frock right took a bit of doing... as it was nearly a howling gale at the time, lassie was also freezing her bits off.

Thought that I may have had to spend hours in PP removing all the goose bumps.

Then shooting in a high profile public area such as this, people aimlessly wandering in and out of shot...

Being the old, myopic guy that I am, I had to read this part three times to make sure I got it right.

So, really no different than doing your work in the place of worship or dining hall the couple were using for the ceremony? I think you are right, full-time wedding photography would bring out a side of Kerrowdown that could frighten small children.

BTW, it's a great shot and most people would probably prefer this to your equally masterful portrait of a bottle of scotch.

"It's called prima nocta, lassie...d'ye no ken? T'was in Braveheart and everythin'..."

At any rate, a seriously good shot, but I'm most intrigued by what that legacy glass is doing with the stonework in the background--they should let you go inside and commune with the spirit of Montrose via Pixel Shift.

Unfortunately a tradition not much adhered to these days, especially by a less the noble Kerrowdown.

Thank you very much for your exceedingly kind words.

In fact to be honest... there's been a fair bit of PP on the background stonework to lessen many of its flaws the “Sweetheart” (SMC Pentax-A* 85mm F1.4) brought to the fore.
