France: Conques
Lens: 20-40 Ltd Camera: K-3 Photo Location: Conques, Aveyron

Installment 2 of the trip, these in the village of Conques, a UNESCO Heritage Site in the Aveyron region of France, with a wonderful and largely intact Medieval church on the St. Jacques de Compostelle route.

Very cool, looks as if you found some kinder light--not to mention interesting hounds...I had to look twice at the sheepdog-like creature to make sure it wasn't some sort of flagellant making the rounds. I think I'll pick the architectural detail as my favorite of the set--I'm assuming a look up at the dome from the transept-nave/choir?


At any rate, hope you're having a great time--if your travels get you down, however, check out Tobias Smollett's Travels through France and Italy for a wonderfully dyspeptic (i.e. Scots) take on the nascent tourist industry of the 18th Century.

I enjoyed the series I especially like the lighting on the fourth shot.

That is a Briard, great dogs... I will have to track down the Smollett!

Thanks Taks. I loved that corner, the composition of elements and the color and quality of the light...
