but in the end the St. Basil's Cathedral in the Moscow Red Square did survive.

Originally I had no intention taking pictures of the cathedral because this has been photographed to death and it is difficult to come up with something new. But when you stand in front of it it is irresistible.

The something new is that the photographs were taken by you and document the moment in your life when you stood before this architectural marvel.

Even though it was an overcast day lack of hard shadows works to an advantage and the colors still manage to come through. The gold leaf really snaps out.
