Ah, so its YOU who is the senior then ? I was expecting to see some wrinkled old sea salted character smoking a pipe

I think its very nice, natural looking and you've got a good spread of light over the subject and surrounds. Personally I would like to see more focus and sharpness, especially on the eyes, but also more clarity in the details, but that's maybe a personal style thing ..... you are probably going for a soft feel.

Very nicely photographed. A lovely young lady with a winning smile.

Many thanks for sharing.

A very nice 3/4 shot. The larger leaves over left shoulder are a bit of a distraction for me though.

I agree about the leaves over the shoulder. Loose those and you have a perfect image I think.

On another note, I would never have someone lean against vines like this. I believe this was English Ivy on the tree. Do you know what Poison Ivy looks like? They sometimes grow on the same tree too!

Regards,

Hard to tell at this size but if the eyes are nice and sharp I think it's great. I could take or leave (ha) the leaves but I don't find them too bothersome.

The leaves are a bit intrusive and the highlight along the left side of her face could be toned down a bit so it was not quite so bright, but then I'm no expert.

Ha, the senior label references her being a Senior in high school. Kids in the U.S. in their final (senior) year in high school get portraits done for the school yearbook and for family. Thanks for your comments. I usually like more sharpness as well, but this one started out not as sharp as I would like, so rather than fighting it with trying to sharpen, I just went with the softer theme for this one.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I understand the comments about the leaves, I liked it, and she must have liked it since she did pick it out, but I could see how some may not like it. Any other feedback is welcome.

Only correction would be to take the photo sot he leaves don't cover her hair/shoulder. Wonderful photo otherwise.

Ah, I see Jake .... the pond looks rather wide between us now! Over here 'Senior' can be short for 'senior citizen' (it's common to read people on the UK forum saying they had a 'senior moment' ) so I mistakenly assumed you were referring to yourself I'm sorry for this embarrassing confusion!

Senior is used that way here too, so I knew what you meant.

It is a good senior portrait. The ivy is a nice metaphor although maybe the sprig on her neck should have been pushed back. But that is very minor. I am sure the girl and her family love it.
