impressionistic water color reflections
Lens: Tamron 90mm macro SP Di Camera: k70 Photo Location: Kalmia Gardens, Hartsville SC ISO: 400 Aperture: F5.6
Posted By: Knock, 12-04-2016, 12:53 AM

Every Thanksgiving when I visit my brother in South Carolina we always take a hike through Kalmia Gardens. This spot on the trail always appeals to me. On this day the fall colors were bouncing off the water in a special way. It was like an impressionistic painting in real time.

Very nice. I bet that would look wonderful hanging on a wall.

Cool shot. I might have cropped the trees out on the top and flipped the shot. Nicely done. JIM

Thanks for the idea Jimbo! I did as you suggested and then I bumped up the contrast and saturation. I probably got a little carried away with the saturation, but what the hell...

Nice work on both. Original show a good eye for the colours and textures out there but the cropped version really hits the spot. Well done.

No you didn't !

Generally speaking over-saturated colours have become all the rage and a lot of folk apply this to almost every picture they take in the mistaken believe it will improve their pictures; not realising it should be applied sparingly to selected images only.

Yours is an example where it works extremely well ! I am so impressed with this upside-down image and I am only disappointed I did not take it. It would look good in my presentation album.

Also compliments to Jimbo for his brilliant suggestion. Jimbo you are a champ'.

Cheers

Not over saturated at all. Well done. All the credit goes to you who took the shot. My eye just kept going to the reflection versus the trees at the top. Cheers JIM[/INDENT]
