Extra safety
Camera: k1 Photo Location: Farm country

A retro scene from a cafe in eastern WA wheat country.

Note the belt and suspenders, and chain attached to his wallet. Seems to like extra safety.

Great capture John. The B&W treatment definitely gives this image a timeless feel IMO. Very well taken.

Note also the steel safety tread plating to the counter front, seems like a real safe neighbourhood. I agree the B & W treatment (sepia it seems to me) is just right for the location, well done

Nice shot. I'd say it was almost timeless but there are a couple of features that make it unmistakably 21st century though. The cell phone on the subject's belt and the speaker cube on the top of the fixture.

I like it

guys that wear braces and belts get a lot of guff
however it's a very practical arrangement
the belt holds your stuff
the suspenders hold everything up

X 2.

Reminds me of my FIL... who was (passed on) a hard working farmer of the western Canadian prairies. In his course of the working farm day, he was bending, lifting, fixing machinery, twisting, moving, pushing...heavy work. He was a very big man...built like a heavy weight, Olympic Russian weightlifter and he needed and wore suspenders and a belt at the same time.

Why did he wear both suspenders and a belt ? To keep his pants up, as the old joke goes.

He didn't work in an office....like his SIL.

This is a very good pix of a man taking what is probably a well deserved break...black and white is perfect...it's kind a picture you would see in Life magazine back in the '50's and '60's...and to the OP...please take that as high praise indeed.

Thanks for the comments. I was trying my best to take the picture unnoticed, but, due to the low light in the cafe, my k1 fire up its bright green led focus beam.

I thought I was busted, but remained calm, fired off a few shots and finished my coffee.
