I see dirt on sensor, two big transparent circles.
But those line of dots is something new.

Presume you mean the shaded blotch bottom centre? I get this on my K5. Depends on lens and aperture. I've always put it down to dirt on the lens or mirror or sensor. Basically, I assume a good clean is needed.

Could the red dots be a card issue? I remember some people getting some weird artifacts and when they changed cards it took care of it. If you haven't tried it, I'd give that a shot.

That is truly interesting. As noted, I would rule out the card first.

No I have never seen the vertical lines of dots.
If this is new on a computer, card and software that never showed them before then I would suspect the sensor going bad.
If any of the above have changed then I would look there first.
Also if you want to post the file somewhere we can try opening it on our own systems to see if it is in the image file vs some process issues with your software / system.

Crikey.
have you tried different lenses? Changing settings (jpg/raw, low/high res)? Is it there all the time?
Guess: sensor or internal processing (PCB).

That's pretty weird -- I'd also just want to rule out the program you are using to view it or your RAW decoder.

I'd also try a different card reader to transfer your images.. I had issues with images getting messed up that went away after I switched to a different card reader... My images didn't have this particular problem shown here, but other weird corruption...

If you look at the lines, there's a pattern of a single column followed by another single column, followed by two columns that repeats throughout the frame. I doubt that the sensor itself would fail in this way, nor does it seem likely that a SD card would record in this manner either. I think it's in the equipment used to transmit the data from the card to your computer. Looking at images from another camera will confirm whether the problem is being generated by your computer (e.g. video card, mobo, USB connector, etc...).

Does it look the same in-camera?

I use linux ubuntu (derivative), and sometimes I get random lines like this. I have not been able to fix it and I dont even know the cause.

I have seen dots like this in samples from Foveon sensors - notably the Quattro sensor. Does this pattern show up in camera generated JPG files?

I connect the camera to USB to transfer raw images - I rarely take the card out of my cameras, unless I need to change them in the field.

Pls post an image (JPG) with full EXIF intact, if you can.
Or run your DNG through EXIFTOOL and post the text of the results.

I'd be interested in finding out the temperature of the camera body, for one thing.
