Welcome on board. Could have been sharper yes, but I think the colors make up for it. Good start and we're waiting for more. Don't worry, once DA15 gets you controlled, you will carry the tripod with you all the time like a zombie.
Honestly, that's not the tripod that is the limited factor overall in DA15 sharpness, in particular on borders

2 DA15 shoots from Italy, Ravello. Theses are very famous point of view !

DA15, f/10, 1/400, iso200

DA15, f/10, 1/500, iso200.

The day was quite rainy with not that much light. I used iso200 to keep good speed and didn't change for the few minutes where there was more light ! Also tried f/10 to get more corner sharpness of DA15.

The DA15 wants you to think you need a tripod

First post. Arctic colours. No PP.

Twilight lunch break. Cold fingers. Slippery slopes. It would have been sharper with a tripod. Before uploading it was good enough. Now I'm not so sure. In preview it is quite mushy. I like the picture more than the shot.
Welcome! You picked a good one for your first. I love the subtle colors. Where is that?

Very nice. I can see why this is a popular spot. Thanks for sharing.

According to scientific research, the curve made during the construction of the minaret. Not fixed by changing the slope height ( 30,6 mt ). Structure remains a mystery why architects did leaning. Besides the fact that a very touristy place, Cappadocia but there is no news for the many tourists. This structure is also interesting and mysterious like Tower of Pisa.

Thank you all.

Mikesul, the picture was taken in Kirkenes, Norway, on Nov 27. That happened to be the first day of no sunrise this winter. Look it up on G-maps, and you should be able to locate the height that it was taken from. The white tanks are visible, but the blue building is a more recent addition.

Nicolas06 - fabulous colours. Are you using a CPL?

This is one made in the early morning light of a Northern Ontario puddle along Hwy 17. The big lake, Superior, is some where to my back.

Winter has Arrived

Winter arrived with a bit of a bang - thursday we had roughly +10C and it rained all day - Friday afternoon it started to snow and by Saturday morning we had 2 feet of snow and it was -26F Today it cleared and there wasn't a breath of wind although it is still bitterly cold. I took a few shots this morning from my front yard it was absolutely gorgeous- its hard to capture a day like today.

I didn't use a CPL, Still here is how I post processed it:
- Used "Fuji Velvia" DxO film pack rendering. This one gave more punch to colors. It is rendering optimized for vibrant colors and landscapes. It render like the film of the same name.
- Used DxO "clearview" to get more colors and contrast from the distant background.
- Added a bit of micro contrast (doesn't change the image much to be honest)
- Made blacks/shadows a bit darker

Talking about Silver Efex... those were taken at the last New Year's Eve. Not the kind of shot you would take with DA15 but I had nothing else available.
