Until now, I always used the optical triggering without any problem - on board flash plus two P-TTL Metz. But with manual studio strobes it is different. So I just ordered another radio trigger.
Ah! Okay, that makes total sense. But yes, strobes -- with few exceptions -- don't do TTL so you can't do the full-function wireless TTL that you're used to. The Profoto B1's can do wireless TTL with Nikon and Canon bodies, but I doubt they'll ever support Pentax P-TTL. Even if they do, these strobes are $2000 each, so out of reach for most of us impoverished enthusiasts.
What kind of strobes did you get? Some of the newest ones have the ability to act as slaves to speedlights and so have the ability to ignore the TTL pre-flash. If you select that mode, set your camera to M and the popup flash to Controller-only-noflash, your camera should do just the P-TTL pre-flash and that will trigger the strobes.
I hope your new radio triggers arrive soon!
