Sunpak 3600 (or 522)

In an old post written by SOldBear,
https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/22-pentax-camera-field-accessories/106352...thyristor.html

I found that if I know how to weld, I could use this flash in a DSLR and that intrigues me, as I also own a flash of that model
Anyone know of this? Or that's what I should do?

It's not 'welding' but 'soldering' ! I assume that you have to replace or add a resistor somewhere. You can try to contact SOldbear via PM.

Having said that, you can use a Wein safesync or certain radio triggers to reduce the trigger voltage to acceptable levels. A Cactus V5 trigger can take the dangerous voltage but I don't know if it reduces it to a safe voltage. Cactus V6 can take the high voltage and is said to reduce the voltage, but the user manual does not mention it.
