PROJECT 52-6-27-PERSPECTIVE-Wide Angle
Posted By: noelcmn, 08-18-2014, 10:30 AM

Welcome to PROJECT 52-6 for the year 2014.

PROJECT 52-6-27-PERSPECTIVE-Wide Angle

Images for Project 52-6-27 are to be taken between the 18th August 2014 and 24th August 2014.

Rules
1. Anyone and everyone interested in the challenge is eligible. The goal continues to be
have fun and share comments, concepts, insights, and techniques with fellow
Pentaxians.
2. Each week will feature a Theme and Sub-concept for you to explore.
3. Post your single picture in Project 52-6 thread for the week. Explain what
motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly
theme.
4. Some post-processing is OK (adjusting white balance, exposure, color
saturation), but let's try to stay away from heavily PP'ed images here. Try to
keep the creativity to photographic techniques and the captures themselves.
5. Since this project is about technique, and not camera, shots taken by non Pentax cameras are allowed.
Cameras may be SLRs, DSLRs, Point & Shoot, Medium Format, et cetera.
6. There is one “Theme Concept” labeled “black and white,” but feel free to post
black and white, sepia, monotone, etc., for any of the other themes.
7. The picture you post should be taken during the week in which the theme is
active to be eligible for judging.
8. Any picture taken from thread start date to listed closing date is acceptable. You may request to submit a photo outside of the time frame, but its acceptance is dependent o the judge of the week. Please try and keep to within a day or two (either way) of the week. This is to make allowances for those that would like to participate, but for one or other reason, are not able to do so during the time given for the challenge, such as illness, weather, travelling etc.
9. The WINNER of each weekly challenge is the JUDGE of the next week's Project 52-6.
10. The Facilitator (in this case noelcmn) may participate in the challenge, provided he/she is not the judge.
11. Closing date for the challenge is Sunday at midnight in your time zone. Late entries are accepted but subject to the acceptance by the current weeks
Judge.

This weeks challenge is wide angles, most of us will probably have the kit lens 18-55mm, which provides enough of a wide angle to enter this challenge. Or bring out the 15mm and the fisheye's. And most of us will also like wide angle shots.

Some inspiration from the past!

Good luck everyone, and happy clicking!

What lenses do you have? If you have the 18-55 mm kit zoom lens you can use it at 18mm and get a wide angle perspective.
In fact, you can shoot at 28mm and still get a wide angle perspective, although it may not be as dramatic a wide-angle perspective as you might get with an ultra-wide angle lens.
Hopefully you have something along those lines.

Good luck and good shooting.

I only got 50mm, 85mm, 135mm and 200mm, my kits lens was sold to my friend and my 28mm is still waiting for the shipping which recently brought from eBay...

MD Optofonik, that simply means that you can post any B/W in the current weeks challenge or any project 52-6 challenge, as in the example posted above. The only requirement is that it must comply with the theme of the challenge, which this week is Wide angle. Effectively you can post a color or B/W image of a landscape.

If you have a point and shoot camera, or a decent quality smartphone camera, either of those would certainly qualify as wide-angle, or maybe you could borrow back your kit lens long enough to get an entry.
Under Rule 5 this does not have to be taken with a Pentax camera.

Hope you can find some option that works for you.

Maybe, since you don't have one and want to participate, I wouldn't object to a stitch. :-) Just bring whatever you can get!

As judge this go-round I would prefer not to see stitched shots, in my mind it is too much processing and I'm not fit to judge since I could not stitch my way out of a paper bag. This challenge is not Pentax specific. If you can borrow a camera from a friend or maybe you have a point and shoot camera available. 28-35mm will still allow you to work at seeing from a wide angle perspective. I am a bit biased though, I rarely use my lenses that are longer than 50mm without feeling claustrophobic!

I will be happy to see whatever you can come up with. You can search previous Project 52 years to see the kinds of entries offered for the wide angle theme.

The only time I have had this week was 10 til 12 today. not the best lighting but it is what I had. I mounted my Nikkor AI 24/2.8 on my istDL. It is Kind of awkward without an adapter but it does work just a bit upside down. I am not sure about the F stop but I was shooting mostly around f22
