There was some very good responses to this week's challenge, but for me three stood out as matching the theme. They were the submissions from mtux with the pomegranate fruit seeds, noelcmn and the two wine bottles, and RollsUp with the chess game. This is not easy to judge.

For 3ed place I will go with RollsUp and the chess game. I see maybe two older gentlemen playing chess outside on a quiet street, enjoying the evening sun as their day is ending. I like the coloring and the shadows it gives.


For 2nd place I will have to nominate mtux with the pomegranate fruit seeds. I like the striking color, the strong shadows casting. I get a sense of richness. Also, I wouldn't have recognized the pomegranate except that this last summer I had some for the first time while on a mission trip to India. Very good.


1st place is noelcmn and the two wine bottles. I like the shadows and lighting which outlines the bottles. It reminds me of maybe a small cafe, with the bottles on a secluded table.


This was my first challenge and first time trying to judge. It was a good experience, thank you all.

Oh Dear! another enemy in the bag with wingincamera! I'll get you back for keeping me out of the Open Theme Challenge for Project 52-6-44. OK, I am honored, Phew, there some stunning entries and did not think I stood a chance with that haphazard dust collecting bottles of wine. Thank you!
