Weekly challenge #320 - Lost in gadget
Posted By: mtux, 03-28-2015, 09:40 PM

Thanks everyone for letting me host a Weekly challenge, as it is my first one, I apologize for any mistake in advance.

The theme for this week is "lost in gadget" where the gadget could be cellphone, tablet or any kind of gadget which we see in hands of people nowadays.
It's interesting for me, when I walk in the street or in a shopping mall and see many people alone or in group, too much busy with their phone or tablet or ... (I do it sometimes myself too, and I'm not an alien out of this planet )
And it's still an interesting thing for me on the street. So I'd like to see your photos of people being lost in their gadget. (The person could be stranger or a friend)

Here are some examples from me:

But you be creative, and show us your interpretation of the topic!

The small print:
The contest will run until Saturday April 4th 2015.

Every week, a new theme is picked and judged by the winner of the previous week.
Everyone is eligible to send in their best interpretation of the given theme, as long as the photo is taken with a Pentax/Samsung camera. Themes can be subject-oriented or technique-oriented.

Rules
1. Post ONE photo (max 1024x1024).
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme.
3. Post your single picture in this thread and explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly theme (especially if it's not obvious).
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and choose one of them to be the judge for the next week.
6. This challenge runs for 7 days plus an additional day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any Pentax (or Samsung DSLR) camera can be used.
8. Pictures can be from any time frame, not just within the week of the current theme.
9. In case the winner of a challenge is unable to become the judge for the next challenge, they will PM the #2 winner for that person to be the judge.

Rod, very nice! I will swing the pendulum of time for my entry.

This is a reflection of my grandmother in the gadget that came into being during her generation.

In this photo she is literally and figuratively 'lost in gadget,' the tv. My Nan suffered from Alzheimers and she would stare at the television for hours, whether it was on or not, smiling and nodding smiling and nodding. She was a sweet and happy person who stayed sweet right till the end.

This one always brings a smile to my face even though it isn't a good image.

On-line Pokemon gathering at the LA County Museum of Art. The score-keeper (?) had a dog in his shirt.

Only one gadget here but both seem absorbed.

Some wonderful interpretations and shots so far.
Keep them coming.

Tess, the story about your grandmother was very touching for me. and I feel it when you say the gadget of their days was the TV, my grandma was a fan of it, and it was normal for us to find her sleeping in front of the TV.

I saw the perfect picture today, but I was too slow on the trigger to capture it. "A woman sitting in her car, in the middle of an intersection, blocking traffic, talking on her phone." What a winner!
