Welcome to the next round of PF's weekly photo caption contest! All forum members are welcome to vote for their favorites among the submitted captions, and members who submit captions are encouraged to vote for other submissions they also like. In fact you can vote for as many captions as you want in each round; however, since voting is done by "LIKING" the post including a caption you want to vote for, the system will not let you vote more than once for any caption or vote for your own caption submissions.

Before noon (my time, Central time U.S.)on August 23 (the day after voting ends), I will count the likes and announce the winner. If there is a tie, I will either vote my preference, or if I can't decide, flip a coin to select the winner. The winner will thus earn the distinct and high honor of submitting the photo for the next photo contest round and of moderating that round.

There was an old robot called Vin
Who was made from some buckets and tin
And jam tins and junk
And things that go clunk
And his body’s an upside-down bin

But Vin’s got a romantic heart
And one day he thought that he’d start
To try get a girl
With her coils in a swirl
So he waved at a by-passing tart

Well, Ol’ Vin really did get a fright
When they made clanky love all that night
In the morning, all spent
His bits buckled and bent
Oh my word, he did look a sight!

Now married, for all of his sins
His job is to clear out the bins
And they keep on fusing
And still reproducing
A tribe of small buckets and tins!

So far as I know, the only PF member who can not submit a caption or vote (except for tie-breaking at the end) is the current contest moderator. NickDB, you are free to declare this post as a non-competitor, but that doesn't mean you can't submit one or more other captions for this round of the contest. If you don't want to win again so soon, you could of course vote for a lot of the other captions!

It was actually the first caption submitted this round, and obviously the voting suggests that it set the bar rather high! Some may notice that Kerrowdown's caption would seem to have tied NickDB's in votes, except I am honoring Nick's preface to his submission, that it was not for competition, as the tie breaker. I'd like to mention Bruce Clark's caption, the next runner up as one I personally found unexpectedly punny .

So, with this announcement, I hand off the contest photo submission and next round's moderating duties to Kerrowdown, and ask that Kerrowdown post a link to the new contest thread at the end of this one, to help us all find it as soon as it is up.
