If you would not have the 15-30mm already I could give you a hint where to get it

I love this lens, a true pancake and the MF ring is a joy to use. I tested against the DA21 and it was less sharp, less contrast and less saturated, but I much prefer it and seem to compose it faster and better. Both lenses control light very well. It's not the sharpest WA but produces very pleasing images. Curious how this might perform on FF?

The first picture is FF.

You have to close it down quite a bit to get the corners sharp.

But a lens must have character

colorful, and sharp! Was that shot on the K1?
Ignorance of edge sharpness is one of the perks for crop shooters, but now can't wait to go out and test the stopped-down performance.

I would not mind owning both
The 15-30mm is big and not very fun to travel with. This plus the 31mm and 77mm would make an awesome travel kit

I was looking for something small and 20ish.... tried a FA 20-35 for a bit.... but it didn't do it for me like the DA 15 and 21 did on APSC..... took a punt on the Voigtlander after looking at D800 shots with it.... and it did it for me from shot 1. Weird..... of course it isn't a resolution monster.... but it's always with me given it's size.... it's very similar to the DA 15 as far as using it is concerned (field curvature, stopping down, size, great colours etc). I haven't put a handle on it yet, but for some reason I much preffer it over my DA15 that I sold recently.... generally, under 28mm on FF I'm not shooting anything moving so manual focus is fine. Biggest quandry when travelling lite is with the 20, 43 and 77 is do you bother with the 31? Tough life.... got it new for $480.

Some more varied K-1 examples - a great hiking and travel ultra-wide companion for the D-FA 28-105.

Inside a charred Redwood tree stump. Great flare control allowed tone-mapping from a single exposure.

A very windy moonlit night (single 30s exposure) - not a lens for serious wide-open astro-shots, but capable of atmospheric nighttime landscapes

Closeups have a lot of context. At F/4.5, the DoF is shallow enough to isolate details.

South Kaibab Trail Sunrise. My prime use, closed down to F/9-F/13 for landscapes.

I bought mine exactly because I hoped it would be similar on the K-1 to my HD DA 15 on K-5. Similar, yes, just not quite the same unbelievable flare-buster. I occasionally have some weird ghosting with the sun in the frame but have yet to miss a shot because of this though; a slide composition adjustment does the trick most of the time. Mine is next to perfect resolution-wise in the center and catches up at the edges by ~F/11, really late but still perfectly usable. Colors so far seem consistent with the D-FA 28-105, much closer than e.g. the DA 70.

Yes it is soft in the edges open. Still love it!

But I attached a picture showing some difference to other lenses
Then you have it also with you for the orange picture
