Missing feature from the Q S-1

I got my Q S-1 last night (Yay...)

But I have noticed a missing feature, on my Q (and old K-R) there was the ability when viewing images to split the view between 2 images then scroll and view them both on the screen at once!
It is such a wonderful and useful feature and I cant seem to find it on the Q S-1!!!

Am I being stupid? I've looked through the manual and cant see it!

If not, can anybody tell me if it's on the Q7 because I may be happy downgrade to a Q7 to get it back!

Dan

I have never seen this option on my Q7.
You can download the Q7 user manual on pentax website to be sure.

It's been gone ever since the K-5, sadly.

When your viewing an image, press the down arrow to open the options box. You can then select to view two images at the same time. It a wonderful feature that allows you to quickly compare two images while simultaneously panning and zooming them.

Really!!!

That's a blooming shame, Why the hell would they remove it? its so useful!

That was one of the features I loved about Pentax cameras.

That really does make me sad........ill miss it.

Ah, the Image Comparison setting. Was looking at the playback options.
Can't say as I'd have any use for that on such a tiny screen though.

I think the K-5 has it, but the K-5II doesn't. Its a shame, lots of people complained. Nobody knows why it was omitted.

I'm waiting for my Q7 to be delivered. This thread is disappointing as I liked this feature on the Q. I hope there are not any other "improvements".

Yup! It is still there on the K5. I just checked. I had forgotten about this nifty feature. It should be on all Pentax cameras.

It's also gone on the Q7 and gone on the K30, love it on my Q and Kr, I often move my SD card to Kr the from the K30 when setting the auto focus compensation for lenses

I was SO mad when I found out it had been removed from the K-5 II.
Maybe they tried to reduce pixel peeping.
Maybe they ran out of firmware space when they included the expanded AF mode. Maybe...

I really don't know why it was removed. I think its gone from all cameras since the K-01. I think there was even some petition or email sent to Pentax about this, but I don't think there was any reply

Sure, petitions to Pentax always work Sad. Do you suppose it conflicted with some other new feature? Hard to see how.

I am so curious as to why it was removed.

Probably some petty patent issue, maybe another company owns the 'Idea'.
