Do you tape or paint your camera's logo and type?

I can't stand any more the snobbish looks on my K5 by canonika colegs whene i shoot events. I don't have money to go "balls to the wall" 645D yet. The only solution is to go stealth, so do you tape or paint logos? Any suggestions on paint type?

I would not paint or tape as then the snobbish would do it even more... and then ... are they not the results that matter?

If you really want to go on that route, use something like the Mantis scratch repair pen that is an instant bodyshop clear coat fix and then cover in acrylic paint: Betterware in the uk sell them on the web with the UV activated formula.

I don't cover the Pentax logo on my K7 because I can't fit the words "Better than yours" there.

Regards

I would never cover the Pentax name on my camera. I am proud to be a Pentaxian. Always have been, always will be. I have nothing to be ashamed of. And I have no time for snobs. Who needs them?

This is the mentioned product that is good for the filling: JML Mantis Scratch Repair Pen - 63882 - Betterware
and this is a tip on how to paint the camera (or at least mind for the part you want to paint)

Good luck!

I removed the Canon logo on the camera bag that my friend gave to me.

What are you talking about?? Why would you ever paint the logo of anything??
By doing that you'd be admiting they're right. Raise your head and deliver the best images you can. Real photographer will NEVER judge you by your equipment!

I did the opposite. I taped over the Canon logo on my tripod using black electrical tape.

I shot some events with my yellow K-01. The photographers with Canikon cameras and massive lenses looked at me like I came from Mars

No way, if the canikon crown think they are superior let them. I prefer to belong to an exclusive club and I don't care who knows. Pentax for ever.

Maybe I have OCD, but i covered labels not the first time(TV, phones, laptops etc.), because I feel like I'm free walking billboard for brands. Cameras for the first time because I liked pentax being underdog. But those looks, not being superstition, cursing me with a bad luck or something.

A variety of photojournalists cover the names on their cameras. Often to make them less obtrusive. It's not a novel idea in the least.

I'm out and about in public nearly all the time, so most of my equipment has had this stealth mode treatment. Yes and I do mean on all brands, Canon, Nikon, whatever I'm using. By the application of only tape as opposed to paint etc., it's an easily reversible thing to do, if required in the future.

It's got nothing to do with brand loyalty, boys clubs or bragging rights, but it's all about reducing desirability, a lot of folk already do it with their camera bags, why not their cameras too.

It would seem every light fingered bugger around the world knows all about camera brands and trust me they do seek out the right ones.

But hey, just my 2 cents, whatever floats your boat.
