Designing a logo?

Hi guys,

I'e created a photography Facebook page for those that want to purchase my photos. I offer landscape and wildlife photo. These are picture that I have shot for fun, but I am starting to get people asking from them, and would like to make a few bucks off of them to help cover the cost of gear.

I have named it "Freedom Feathers Fotography". Could anyone tell me how to go about designing a logo?

Thanks in advance!

Go into photoshop/illustrator, pick a nice font, add a graphic or shape of some sort (such as a camera, aperture, lens, etc.) and you'll be good to go. There are also companies that offer logo design for relatively cheap, but you won't get much creativity out of that.

Hi there,

what kind of software do you use? Do you have any experience with Photoshop or, better yet, Illustrator? There's some really useful tutorials for either:

I suppose a 30 day Adobe trial could be sufficient if you want to create the logo yourself. Then there's (more or less) professional services that could design one for you. Like at the envato marketplace, where personal logo designs can be ordered from $50 up:
Logo Design Services - Logo Design & Branding - Envato Studio

I've bought some After Effects templates there before and they are made pretty well, but I don't know about their other services. I guess you'll get what you pay for, but maybe it's of use to you.

Yes, you can buy templates or hire some body to make it, buat i sugest you make it on Adobe Illustrator, because Vector logo are better when you enlarge than bitmap

Make your design so that it looks good at all sizes, especially small. Make sure it works in B&W as well as color. Keep text to a minimum and avoid using type on a path. Make sure it fits well within and makes the most of a rectangular shape. Do create it in a vector drawing program. Don't save it out as a jpg--use .png or .gif.

Better than nothing, but not ideal.

There are open source vector drawing programs available. Bit of a learning curve, but if you're up to it, worth a try.
