I'm in New York and my yellow K-01 with 50mm lens got stolen at pier 11 area.

Maybe someone hears about It love to know. Just happend.

Sorry to hear that, Ron. Only a fellow K-01 user can truly commiserate. You just never know when you will run into someone like that. My personal experience (my wife had her backpack stolen in Prague some years ago) is that you are simply unaware that it can happen - and suddenly it's gone.

Sorry to hear about your K-01. I would be pretty devastated if my panda was stolen. I guess that's the rub with carrying such a brightly colored camera: it may not look super pricy/worth stealing at first glance, but it does tend to draw attention. I hope it turns up

As a former New Yorker I feel for you and am sorry you had this unfortunate experience to remember New York. You can replace the camera but you cannot replace the pictures in the camera. If you are still there, I hope you have a chance to stop by B&H and/or Adorama and can get a replacement at a good price. Just in case you do look to buy a new camera while in NYC, consider these you only two options. I would not bother with any of the tourist trap camera and electronics places that are all over the midtown/times square area.

My condolences. Hope you reported the camera as stolen, along with good description. Sometimes the police know where to look, but they need a little convincing to actually bother doing it.

At least a yellow K-01 would be easy to spot (or hard to hide).

The one benefit to the k-01 is that if you did see anyone with one you know who stole it

Someone once stole Tess' Optio W80 right off the dock in Whitney while we were loading the boats. Being Whitney, we know which party of people took it, we dont know which actual person took it.. There's some folks that would just go and burn their house down. Tess and i are more civilized and not at all in tune with Whitney justice. It was a family who were loading their motorboat into the water to head out into the lake right next to us loading our canoe. There's no honour among boaters apparently.

Bummer. Maybe any NY residents on the forum can keep an eye out a the local second hand or pawn stores, as it'll stick out when a thief goes to offload it.
Same goes with ebay/craigslist.
