This has become a tradition at my house every holiday season, beginning at Thanksgiving and through the New Year. It's delicious and I thought I'd pass it along. I say, "It's delicious,".... let me qualify that. I like it.... and if you like desserts that are sweet AND tart, then this is for you! It's one of those concoctions that only gets better the longer is sits around! Make two, because the first one will go quickly!
Enjoy. Cranberry Tort
Pre-heat oven to 325 degrees
List of Ingredients:
2 cups
Fresh Cranberries
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 stick butter (1/2 cup)
2 eggs (beaten)
3/4 cup flour
4 tablespoons water
Pour the cranberries into a buttered 9" pie plate.
Mix 1/2 cup walnuts with 1/2 cup sugar and pour evenly
over the cranberries. Melt the butter and when slightly
cool, add the rest of the sugar, flour, eggs & 4 tablespoons
water and mix thoroughly. Spread the mixture evenly over
the cranberries and walnuts.
Bake in the pre-heated oven at
325 degrees for
30-35 minutes
or until golden brown.
