Birders - help shut down an "owl bar" before it even starts

Some nitwits think that it's a good idea to have a bar event where patrons can interact with owls. Read more about it here and please sign the petition.

And while you are at it, give them a piece of your mind on Facebook

While I would like to sign the petition; I am very reluctant to give my name, address, e-mail that is required. I realize this is needed so that the petition is not falsified, but again, I do not want to give out my private information.

I think that is to sign up to change.org itself, all that won't appear on the petition.

You don't even have to display your signature if you don't want to. If you have a Facebook account you can sign in with that.

It appears that the information required is to sign the petition, rather than signing up to the site.

Also, nope don't belong to Facebook.

Regardless, I certainly hope this is stopped; the birds have no say in what happens to them.

I checked with Otis...who checked with his Army of Squirrels....not a single one of them was willing to save an owl, hawk, or eagle. They weren't even in for saving a "friendly cat".
He would however accept any donations to help feed starving orphan squirrels!

Sounds silly to me. There would be some initial interest due to the novelty.
But it wouldn't last long. It would go back to being a sports bar in no time.

Here's a thought from Otis.....
See if they will replace the owls with squirrels. You drop a peanut in a slot and out pops a squirrel for your entertainment. Want more entertainment, pop in more peanuts! If they will go for it at that bar, Otis has hundreds of volunteers ready to travel! Heck, if they have enough peanuts and maybe some exotic nuts, he said he would go himself!

No one would worry about the welfare of squirrels, after all, people eat them all the time......you don't see people eating owls, do you?

Regards!

People eat squirrels all the time?

I have never heard of any one eating them in the UK,

Are the ones you eat free range or intensively farmed?

is there perhaps a untapped market in the UK for squirrel game pie???

You just haven't looked around! Squirrel meat flies off supermarket's shelves | Environment | The Guardian

Keep in mind, if Otis sends his Army Squirrels to that bar, they are not for eating purposes. He expects them to be treated with respect and dignity ........and extremely well fed! Otherwise, he will declare war on England....and you know how that worked out last time!

If they can take turns touring at that bar, and come back looking like this.....he said he might consider giving parts of America back to England.....the parts he doesn't like where they eat squirrels!

Yep, send them back looking like this and you will have friends for life!

Just drop a peanut (or several dozen!) in the slot, and out pops a soft cuddly squirrel for the bar patrons entertainment! Otis' Squirrels can dance....however, their singing sucks, so don't ask for singing!

Regards!

Otis said he has never eaten an owl, but is open to trying it!
He has tried dog...says it "tastes just like chicken!"

3 species of tree squirrels have legitimate small game hunting season in most U.S. states. There are probably 100 ways to cook squirrel.
