Originally posted by jimx200 Just last night I finished a outstanding book by Laura Hilderbrand called Unbroken. It's the true story of Louis Zamperini, a WW2 pilot, and his incredible survival on a raft for 4 weeks and then held/tortued in Jap prison camps. My God, the brutality they inflicted. The numbers are atrocious in that 37% of all prisoners died in those camps vs 1% who were held by the Germans. A must read.
And yes, our greatest generation for sure.
Angelina Jolie has directed the film adaptation, Jimx.
