Pentax and cars.

I was having a pretty random thought today when I was thinking about buying a new car. If Pentax cameras were cars what kind of car would they be? Cannon and Nikon would probably be Ford and Toyota, or something like that, but what about Pentax? Please elaborate if you can!

"Subaru" has been discussed in the past, amongst others. ☺

Pentax should make badge a full-frame, self-driving car.

I have both a Subaru and a Pentax, and yes, I love them both. No, I do not hug trees; I've actually cut down quite a few. Both of these brands do have their own unique features. My friend who is a professional mechanic has a very high regard for Subaru. Pentax has a reputation for rugged cameras. IMO, the comparison of these brands is a good one.

Love - it's what makes a Pentax a Pentax.

My buddy keeps saying Subaru too. I've never owned one, but he says they're a lot like Pentax cameras in the fact that they're offbeat but highly reliable. Guess I'll have to test drive one soon.

In addition to subaru and Saab, Volvo comes to mind.

Volvo is known for safety and reliability. Pentax is known for its weather resistance and durability both of which match up well with volvo's strengths

Saab was odd, and had a pioneering spirit. They had many things that made them stand out, like the ignition in the center ...

Although I would rather have a subaru lol.

I would agree with Subaru, but they are partially owned by Toyota. So here's a vote for Mazda....another company at a distance from Canikon/Honota. But lots of efficient effort that are fun to drive, thinking outside of the box (rotary engines), and a loyal following.

Skoda. Long heritage, small market share, excellent engineering/build quality/reliability, great value, quirky design, minimal marketing, misunderstood and even ridiculed by those who don't know, knowing looks between owners.

The Subaru analogy makes me queasy, odd car with poor drivers in the slow lane, do not insult Pentax, which is a Volvo for sure. Solid, strong, advanced engineering and upscale and stylish or Range Rover for the same reasons!

"small market share,"?

You haven't been to europe recently.... this is one of the most popular brands, at least since it was bought out by VW a longer while ago (10+ years?).
