Pentax at Arlington Camera Show

Went to the Arlington (Texas) Camera Show today with my daughter for the third or fourth year in a row. The booth was covered with all the latest: K-S1s in every color, Q-S1s, both Z and D 645s...

Here's a pic of the booth with the incomparable Jessica Oleksy presiding.

Yin and Yang: The great Jessica Oleksy with a 645z and a Q-S1; shot with Pentax Q7/08 Lens

The Pentax booth was a bit bigger this year, and definitely had more equipment. As in previous years, it was comparable in size to the Nikon, Fuji and Panasonic booths - just a bit bigger - and seemed to have more traffic than any of them. Also as in previous years, the Canon booth was much bigger than any other booth.

Beyond the equipment, there are classes, models available for test shots, and a big-enough crowd to jam pack the building on a rainy Texas Saturday. The show is open from 10 am to 6 pm Sunday, Nov. 23rd. Feola say check it out.

I apologize if this is a dumb question and I realize it probably is but why is Jessica Oleksy incomparable? Thanks.

She's super smart and knowledgeable - she'll go from discussing lenses for the 645 with one customer to the differences between WG compact models with another. She did a great job while I was there laying out the differences for another customer between the K-S1 and the K 30, including a discussion of anti-alliasing filters. She's a great rep for Pentax.

We're quick here to point out failings with Pentax sales and marketing. We should also be quick pointing out what they do right, don't you think?

In any case, fun show and lots of Pentax gear to see. And it's free! Check it out if you're in the area.
