It's WIFI and the lens is WR DC and RE (rectractable?) But not HD so pentax is still bringing out new smc lenses.
I was thinking the button was either video or WI-FI. Could Ricoh be putting on-board WI-FI? Time will tell.

Perhaps smc is somewhat cheaper than HD?
Still a prototype. The production model could possibly be HD.

I think this camera not an entry level one, mid level. Look at mode dial it’s way to advance for an entry level DSLR.

I'm not a wifi fan, don't need it and I would rather the improvements on existing features, but, I wonder if they will provide phone/tablet software, or will the new tethering software work with it or the K-3 replacement?

Built in Wifi?

See you later, Eye-Fi company.

I'm pretty stoked about this camera actually. The K30 is getting a little long in the tooth. I wonder if it will share the AA adapter capability, as well as the same battery. It would make upgrading a no-brainer!

I'm going to guess that it uses the same Li-109 as the K-r/30/50/500/S1. Not sure on the AA adapter - it looks like it's big enough, though (it originated with the K-r).

bigger pic (it's on flickr as well) so you can see dust and flakes better, as well as the filter thread, which is 58mm.

movie button is on the on off switch, so no aperture preview there.

Yeah, def looks like it'll slot in above the K-S1, maybe at $750-800 or so. (New Nikon D5500 is $900). Then people will complain that it is too expensive vis a vis the K-3, right up until the K-3II is announced at CP+, lol.

So the lens's name is smc Pentax-DA L 18-50mm f/4-5.6 DC WR RE.

Ah, now I see the gaffer's tape over the name. These definitely look like they're just about production ready.

Ditto on wanting to see the back. Hopefully there would be real interactive buttons and switches back there!

wondering if there will be a gaffer tape removal ceremony?

two white bits at the top, looking like a K something.

If KS-1 is entry level, drop the Kxx line, this replaces the K-3 and makes room for FF K-1 (with dx equivalent feature) below the 645Z
