That's crazy they didn't uploaded some great shots taken with the 2 new lenses, IMHO it would have had a high positive impact on the sells...
A slick marketing campaign with great shots, brochures, online sample gallery, and testimonials from known professional photographers would make a lot of sense. Unfortunately neither Pentax or Ricoh seem to be into marketing much. Personally I would rather buy stuff from an engineering driven firm than a marketing driven one. But the trick for the engineers is staying in business in the face of relentless marketing from other companies, regardless of how cool the actual product is.

I found this while browsing the iOS app store, Pentax Story where they present the two new DFA lenses with pictures and interviews with the engineers. Looks quite nice but unfortunately almost everything is in Japanese so I don't get much out of it..

https://itunes.apple.com/se/app/pentax-story/id963084576?mt=8

best regards

Wow. They did it. They made the iPad useful, that's awesome !
Definitely, they deserve an award for being the worst company ever, marketing wise ! ^^

Finally, they didn't made the iPad that useful, as the app is a webapp available in any browser :
The link for the 150-450
The link for the 70-200

You can use your keyboard's arrow keys to navigate. When you arrive on the gallery page you have to click on the buttons on the right / left to display the next / previous image. The pictures size is a little small but they seem nice.
Here are the images if you don't wan't to search in the app :

02.

03.

Very nice. I like the Australian birds used to highlight the 150-450. Many are very familiar.

Both lenses are very attractive looking pieces of tech, I must say. These may be my Xmas present to myself this year.

It is also cool to see Ricoh giving their lens engineers public credit, and profiling them in each presentation - Tetsuya Iwasaki for the 150-450; Makoto Iikawa and Masakazu Saori for the 70-200.

Interestingly, the designers for the FA*70-200 have the current DA*50-135 to their credit too.

The iPad is indispensible in my business...

it has changed my life, and I could not live without it. I'm a bass player; I have a stack of music 15' high with me, always; I don't need to carry 4 big books of music, an orchestral music stand, a light, and an extension cord for the light; it used to be a trip to the car JUST to bring the music in. I have a 16 track recording studio with me, always; I can videotape performances, edit them, and have them up on the web during my break or at intermission. I can film my students and send it to their parents, or use it for discussions. Indispensable. I have a 27" iMac, and an iPhone 5s, but if I had to pick just ONE thing, it would be the iPad. It is with me always in my duties as a musician. Couldn't live without it now.

Now if Pentax would just bring out some tethering apps, and put Bluetooth in their cameras like the rest of the developed world...

Cheers,
Cameron

Which just goes to show, you can't prove a negative, people can say iPads or whatever are useless and rant on, but somewhere, it's a big deal for someone. And for that someone you sound like an idiot. People should be more careful they don't sound like idiots.

Back on topic, those photos look fantastic,

Ah ah keep cool, it was a joke ! An iPad is useless, for my needs.

For the pictures, they seem nice but it's hard to discuss the sharpness. The bokeh seems great though, and I can't see any aberration (maybe a little one on the bottom left in the n°03, but the light conditions could hardly be worse...).
Does anyone know at which focal it starts being a f5.6 lens ? The n°02 is at f4.5 and 190mm.

Indeed but I think (could be wrong) that the comment was more targeted towards people (tourists?) using their iPad as sole camera which is... well a bit weird to say the least, at least ergonomicaly.
It doesn't mean it has no use for the photography business. IMO a totally different issue.

Yes. The DA*300 especially with the tc where the background is really busy gives an unpleasant bokeh sometimes. Those are tough shots, I can imagine shooting in those conditions and considering myself lucky to get anything decent.
