Bits borrowed from the 645Z ?
Strange looking "twist out" rear LCD.

This mock up looks impressive.

normally not. But we will make an exception for our new baby....

I really like the layout, but i also wished for normally sized top LCD, in "my world" it would be a bit smaller than on the K-3 and the top of the camera would be tilted just like on the 645Z. But i really like it a lot like it looks now though.

Honestly i dont make use of it that often... Sometimes when i am doing Astrophotography in my garden and i switch off the Color-lcd to save power, i am happy that i can read the functions from the top of the body and dont have to quench my eyes in the outer corners of the viewfinder, going around the mist on the viewfinder that it collects because its cold in the night... and then i dream about the top of the 645Z and think. i could use a tilted top lcd on my k-3 too. because the cam is mounted head high and i have to tilt cam and tripod together to have a look at the top LCD so i do not have to bother about the mist on my viewfinder because it is so cold...

this looks much more like a semi-functional prototype to me... dont you think?

According to the Adorama article, it's still un-named.

I went back and looked at the photos of the mock up from 8 months ago (see - CP+ 2015: My Encounter with the Pentax Full-Frame DSLR Prototype | explora ).

The only change that I can detect from the original mock up are the dials/buttons on the top by the shutter button.

The two dials on the right side of the body

it seems to be exposure meter adjust dial or user setting or something

5 user modes

I guess the unlabeled dial controls the mode selected on the other right-side dial?

How many people actually use those? (Just an honest question, I've never really tried them)

I use one, but different types of shooting, different users, etc.
